How the calculation works
The estimator shows three numbers so you can see why the recommended order is higher than the theoretical amount: a GFF planning baseline, the adjusted need after your job conditions, and the order quantity rounded up to whole 40 lb boxes. We always round up to complete boxes and never round down.
GFF planning rates
Torginol's technical data sheet publishes coverage ranges, not one rate. GFF chooses a conservative point inside each range as a planning default so you are less likely to run short. These are GFF planning rates, not a manufacturer guarantee.

Why GFF recommends full broadcast
Full broadcast gives more consistent color and texture. Partial broadcast is available behind an advanced control but is not recommended: material usage and appearance vary widely by technique and preference, and final surface traction depends on the complete installed system, including topcoat, profile, and any texture additive.
Verticals, divided layouts, and 100% solids
Vertical surfaces are calculated separately because field consumption is substantially higher than floor coverage; the vertical factor is a GFF field-planning assumption you can adjust. Chopped-up rooms add to the layout factor. High-build 100% solids coatings may bury flake or call for a delayed second broadcast, so any reserve there is a choice you make, never added automatically.
Coverage results are estimates. Garage Floor Flake does not verify project measurements or user-entered information and is not responsible for shortages resulting from inaccurate measurements, selections, or inputs. Actual usage varies with application technique, flake profile and blend, broadcast density, substrate texture, resin system, wet-film thickness, temperature, project layout, edges, vertical surfaces, and recovery of excess material. Order enough material, including an appropriate reserve, to complete the project without interruption.
